Melissa (Melissa officinalis)

Perennial, very branched plant, about 70 cm high, with erect, hairy stems, oval leaves and pink flowers gathered in axillary cymes. It has a very pleasant smell and a slightly acidic taste. It is used for its leaves as a condiment. It is also used in the manufacture of perfumes and liqueurs. Harvesting is done by cutting the stems before flowering.
